Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has met with super agent Jorge Mendes as the Red Devils draw up plans for the summer transfer window.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Ratcliffe has taken time out to meet with Mendes in the hope of using the agent's knowledge and contacts to Manchester United's advantage, according to the . Mendes, who used to work with Ronaldo, currently represents a host of top players including Benfica midfielder Joao Neves who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford. Ratcliffe is eager to improve United's transfer business after seeing a host of recent high-profile signings fail to impress at the club.

Ratcliffe has offered some insight into his transfer plans recently on British cyclist Geraint Thomas' podcast. He said: "It’s not that clever is it buying Mbappe? Anyone could figure that one out, but what is much more challenging is to find the next Mbappe, or the next Bellingham, or the next Roy Keane."
